BricsCAD
BricsCAD is a computer aided design (CAD) software developed by Bricsys. The company was founded in 2002 by Eric de Kaiser. This software is made for direct assembly modeling and design. This software is available for Windows, Linux and OS X operating systems in three versions:
BricsCADClassic: Provides the ability to read, write, and write 2D DWG originals, and has a full LISP API for customizing and automating duplication tasks.
BricsCADPro: Includes all the features of the Classic edition, 3D live modeling, 2D and 3D hardware libraries, high quality rendering, render material library, mechanical assembly views and AutoCAD-compatible development system from hundreds of supported third-party applications.
Platinum Edition: includes the features and functionality of the Pro version, 3D system creation, metamorphic modeling, assembly creation and editing, and an early (pre-release) version of the BIM version.
In addition, Bricys has developed two add-on modules for BricsCAD products:
BricsCAD Communicator: Runs on BricsCAD Pro or Platinum to import and export 3D data and allows data exchange with major CAD applications
BricsCAD Sheet Metal: Runs on BricsCAD Platinum, provides tools for sheet metal fabrication with a focus on fabrication

How to istall BricsCAD
- Turn off anti-virus software (Note also turn off Windows Defender) is extremely important
- 1. If you have Bricsys Network License Manager installed, uninstall it completly.
- 2. Install BricsCAD. Do not run it.
- 3. Install the included RLM License Server in a place of your choice.
- 4. Stop the RLM server if it’s running.
- 5. In the RLM License Server directory replace the main RLM executable by the cracked one.
- It’s called “rlm.exe” on Windows and “rlm” on Mac and Linux.
- Copy the file “bricsys.set” in the same place.
- 6. You need to know your computer host name and system ID for the license.
- Host name is how you named your computer so you should know it.
Otherwise Google it! - The system ID, how is called by RLM, is the MAC address of your main network adapter.
- To get it easily: launch BricsCAD, on the Launcher screen click on button “Activate License”.
- The license manager will open, click on the link “Activate manually…”. Your computer host ID
aka system ID is displayed on the right of the windows.
- Host name is how you named your computer so you should know it.
- 7. Now that you have all info, open the file “bricsys.lic” in a text editor like Notepad or VIM.
- Replace <HOST_NAME> by your computer host name.
- Replace all occurences of <HOST_ID> by your system ID/MAC address.
- Save changes.
- 8. Copy the license file in the RLM server directory.
- 9. Start RLM server.(If you dont know how to do that, check RLM_License_Administration.pdf) but if you kept all in same folder just run rlm.exe
- 10.Start BricsCAD, click on “Activate License”. Pick “Server name or address”. Enter your computer
host name or it’s IP (most likely 127.0.0.1). - 11. BricsCAD is now activated with all modules.
